Summerville Spirit, Inc. - Created by Rev. Michael and Diane Hawkins Summers, 2002 Summerville Spirit was started to assist couples and families to have loving relationships. Michael and Diane have been married for six years with a courtship that started three years before their marriage. Michael is an ordained minister in the New Thought movement and Diane is a Child Development teacher and from the beginning of their relationship they just knew they were destined to do something wonderful together. Michael came from a 27 year long marriage with five children that unfortunately ended with a divorce. Diane was married for 30 years with two children and became a widow after a 30 year marriage. They both learned such insightful concepts from their lives and educations that it was extremely motivating for them to share their spiritual journeys with others. A few years into their marriage, Diane began writing her book, Parenting Outside The Box during which Michael assisted her through all the steps. It was during this time he retired from pastor work and started doing weddings part time. They then decided to do pre-marriage coaching and became a great team doing the weddings together. Just as the book was being published, they decided to make a CD of the book and now teach the Parenting Outside The Box course together. Along the way, Diane and Michael became trainers of another parenting curriculum, Parent Project which specializes in parental aids for parents with difficult teenagers. They have taught this course for three years now with Diane's school district. Another aspect of their lives emerged when Michael started life coaching private clients with family issues. And, Michael has recently taken on the Family Ministry at their "home" church, Temecula Valley Church of Religious Science in Murrieta, California. As far as the future is concerned, they would both like to lecture, create parenting seminars, write articles and more books on family relationships and even do a radio show together.
