The experience of parenting is challenging and trying. Diane has written a book that looks not at just how to parent children but how to be a parent. Throughout the course, parents will review four different parenting styles and integrate them with moral development. Our interactive opening exercise demonstrates where each participant was parented as a child. Then, we review how affection and control create the four parenting styles. When parents understand this concept they can work together to choose a parenting style that will help them both create a centered - functional family. Combining the parenting styles with moral development presents an understanding of achieving higher moral development for the betterment of all family members. We encourage moral development through excellent children's books, puppetry and establishing new family traditions This course is great for parents with children of any age, including grandparents as well as caregivers, teachers and family practitioners.
